Trades in the news

This month, the World Trade Organization appointed Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala as Director-General, the first African to lead the organization.

Her new job is to save world trade, and she wouldn’t trade it for the world.

Things you can trade

Stocks: Buy or sell shares. We hear the mask market is hot right now.

Favors: You scratch my back, I’ll scratch yours. Popular among chimpanzees.

Insults: They call you a « @#*$%! ». You call them a « $£%#! ». Congratulations, you may now kiss the bride.

Trading expressions

Trade War: « Tariffs! China! Walls! » (recent US trade policy).

A trade-off: A compromise. A minor trade-off to confinement is the total lack of freedom.

Trading Places: Would you trade places with Dr. Okonjo-Iweala? All you have to do is save global commerce during a pandemic. You do get a company car.
